Midland & Odessa's Local Asphalt Paving Contractor

Since 1975, West Tex Paving has paved driveways for homeowners, parking lots for businesses, and lease roads, pads, and yards for the oilfield — plus the odd jobs nobody else wants to haul equipment out for. You Name It, We Pave It.

Every project starts with a free look at the site. You get a written estimate that spells out the price and the work: how we'll prep the ground, what goes down, and how thick. Then we show up when we said we would, pave it, clean up, and walk the finished job with you. The bill matches the estimate.

We're not a hot-mix-only outfit, either. We also lay recycled asphalt millings, chip seal, caliche, and gravel, so when a cheaper surface honestly fits the job, we can quote it. On a long ranch drive that's the difference of thousands of dollars. Tell us what the surface needs to carry and what you'd like to spend, and you'll get real options instead of a sales pitch.

Why West Tex Paving

Fifty Years Out Here Teaches You What Lasts

Anybody can lay asphalt that looks good the week it goes down. The trick is pavement that still looks right after years of West Texas sun, blowing sand, and loaded trucks — and that part is decided before the first truckload of hot mix ever arrives.

  • We've been here since 1975. Our customers are our neighbors, and the best advertising we've got is pavement we laid twenty years ago that's still in service.
  • We build from the ground up. Grading, drainage, and base depth matched to what will actually park on the surface. That's what decides how long pavement lasts out here, so that's where your money goes.
  • We quote straight. Free on-site estimate, firm price in writing, scope spelled out. If millings or chip seal will do the job for less, we'll say so.
  • One crew, whole job. From dirt work to the final stripe, you deal with one local company — not a chain of subcontractors pointing at each other.
  • We answer the phone. 8am to 8pm, seven days a week — before the job, during it, and after.

Straight Answers About Asphalt Paving

How much does asphalt paving cost in Midland–Odessa?

It depends on three things: the size of the area, the condition of the ground underneath, and the surface you pick — hot mix costs more than millings or chip seal. Ballpark numbers over the phone are guesses, and guesses turn into change orders. We'd rather come look at the job and hand you a firm written price for free.

How long does a new driveway take?

Most residential driveways are prepped and paved within a couple of days, weather permitting. Parking lots and roads run longer depending on size, and your estimate lays out the schedule before we start.

When can I drive on new asphalt?

Give it two to three days before parking vehicles on it — longer in the peak of summer, since heat keeps fresh asphalt soft. It will carry foot traffic within a day. New asphalt keeps curing for months, so go easy on sharp steering turns in one spot, trailer jacks, and kickstands the first season.

Do I really need sealcoating?

Bare asphalt doesn't age slowly out here. The sun dries the binder out of the surface until it goes gray and brittle, and then cracks do the rest. A sealcoat every few years costs a fraction of repaving and is the single best way to stretch the life of a driveway or lot.

What if asphalt costs more than I want to spend?

Then say so — we also pave with recycled millings, chip seal, caliche, and gravel. For long drives and ranch roads especially, those can do the job at a much lower cost, and we'll tell you honestly which surface fits your traffic and your budget.

How far out of Midland–Odessa do you work?

Farther than you'd think. Regular stops include Gardendale, Andrews, Seminole, Stanton, Big Spring, Monahans, Crane, Kermit, and Pecos, and we've hauled out to Sweetwater and San Angelo. If you're in West Texas, call — worst case, we'll point you somewhere good.
